Share your own experience

Be specific, fair, and relevant to school life. No threats, harassment, hate, impersonation, spam, or unsupported allegations. Do not identify children or share anyone’s private contact details.

Reviews are moderated

Submissions are saved for review before publication. Ratings only include genuine published reviews; labeled test and sample posts are excluded. Public display names are self-chosen and unverified. EduFos is independent of the schools listed.

Your privacy

V1 collects review text, rating, topic, your relationship to the school, and an optional public display name. Choosing anonymous discards the display name. Accounts and identity verification are not active yet. Photo and video uploads and comments are not active.

For abuse protection, the server briefly stores a one-minute hash of your network address with a submission count; it expires within a few minutes and is cleaned up on later submissions. Hosting infrastructure may retain operational request logs. Anonymous posting is not a promise of technical anonymity.

Nearby schools

When you choose Use my location and allow browser permission, your coordinates are sent to EduFos to find nearby schools. The app keeps your location only in page memory and does not save it to the school database. Hosting infrastructure may retain operational request logs. Nearby results include only schools with known coordinates; distances are approximate straight-line miles.

School photos

School photos may be acquired via Google Places Photos server-side and stored on EduFos. Your browser loads these photos from EduFos. When contributor names are provided, they appear as plain-text photo credits. Existing Wikimedia photos retain their source and license credits. EduFos does not provide a Maps product interface. School names and addresses may be sent to Google to locate a matching photo; see the Google Privacy Policy. Our school review guidelines also form the terms of use for this site.

School lookup

When you choose to look up a missing school, your school query is sent to Google if the service is configured. Otherwise, only labeled fictional results are shown. Confirming a result adds the school to our directory.

Corrections and removal

V1 moderation and correction requests are handled by the site operator through the database. A public reporting and account-management workflow is planned for the next release.
